The Arcadia Literary Club enjoyed a wonderful meeting in January, held at the beautiful and charming home of Jamie Kirschner. Greeting the members were Jamie and her co-hostesses, Theresa Wheeler and Jennifer Kamberg. They served a wonderful array of delectable refreshments and sweets to the ladies. Prior to the business meeting members and guests enjoyed one another’s company.
President Heidi de Jong called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Gratitude was expressed to the hostesses for exceptional offerings and hospitality. Four guests were introduced: Pam Ames, Eloise Johnson, and Leon and Evelyn Arthur. Birthday greetings were extended to members with January birthdays. The roll call, reading and approval of minutes and treasurer’s report were read and approved. Members discussed the club’s purchase of two 75th anniversary copies of “Gone with the Wind” the club is donating to the DeSoto County Public Library.
