SOUTH VENICE — A judge sentenced former North Port High School principal George Kenney to one year of probation, 50 community service hours and court costs Tuesday after he pleaded no contest to two criminal misdemeanor charges of unlawful practice of hypnosis on students.
Twelfth Circuit Judge Phyllis Galen also ordered Kenney, 52, not to unlawfully practice therapeutic hypnosis for the duration of his probation. He must also pay court costs and $50 to the North Port Police Department for the cost of a four-month investigation, which is standard in misdemeanor cases.
