NORTH PORT — With New Hope Community and Living Waters
Lutheran churches stepping forward as potential sites, the quest to establish a temporary emergency shelter within the city may be realized in the near future.

Their locations — New Hope, at 5600 S. Biscayne Drive, in the northwest section of the city; and Living Waters, at 12475 Chancellor Blvd. in Port Charlotte, near the county line — mean residents at opposite reaches of the city have closer sites to get shelter.
