Thiele, a champion for
the performing arts, dies

NORTH PORT —
Because he cared about the arts in North Port, longtime resident Jim Thiele spent hours volunteering as president of the Society of the Performing Arts at the North Port High School campus.
Thiele, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday at Olde World Restaurant with friends, died Thursday.
