Thanks to the efforts of the U.S. Coast Guard Diamondback cutter crew Tuesday, a maritime tragedy was avoided when the crew rescued Englewood residents Mike Kaska and Bill Handy from their capsized boat in the Gulf.
ENGLEWOOD — Mike Kaska and Bill Handy knew they are lucky — very lucky — to be able to tell their story Wednesday.
Tuesday, the two Englewood men clung to a capsized fishing boat in the middle of the Gulf and thought they’d be spending the night there.
