Rinkard House to be demolished

Last chance to view a historic Englewood landmark: The Rinkard house, the oldest structure on Englewood's mainland, sustained fire damage in October. Sarasota County now is processing a demolition permit for the building.

ENGLEWOOD — The historic Rinkard House will not be a phoenix rising from its ashes.
A Sarasota County demolition permit now is working its way through process. The request
for the permit was filed Jan. 18 by Graber Excavating & Demolition, on behalf of the Canadian owner, Mario Radovic. According to several county officials, most of the departments and agencies involved have signed off on the permit.
