Longtime city Animal Control Officer Win Sell opens a gift from co-workers Friday at his retirement party. The tumbler has a police patch, along with an old photo of Lt. Kevin Sullivan pulling Sell, who had a fake snake around his neck, out of his work truck.

Win Sell, who recently retired after 21 years with the city, stands with Animal Control Officer Jarred Fegan on Friday.
NORTH PORT — He’s been bitten by snakes, alligators, coyotes, dogs and cats, but
one of the most memorable Animal Control calls Win Sell remembers involves a frog.
“Oh, I got in trouble
over that frog,” Sell, 58, said Friday during a pizza-and-cake party celebrating his recent retirement.
