Marshall-bound Gilchrist leads area signings

There were times when Yolanda Carter wasn’t sure that her son, for all his ability, would make it to play college football.
Marcus Gilchrist took a big step to easing his mother’s doubts Wednesday, signing a national letter of intent on national signing day to play at Marshall, starting in the fall.
