After more than nine months of investigation, the Florida High School Athletic Association levied fines totally more than $10,000 on the Venice High baseball program for violations dating as far back as 2008.

According to the FHSAA, Venice received a reprimand, which is an official letter placed in its file for future reference, and was fined a total of $12,500 for the violations.
