The state Supreme Court is a step closer to deciding whether term limits are constitutional for Sarasota County commissioners.

The Second District Court of Appeal in Lakeland on Tuesday handed to the high court the case filed by 16 county residents. They want the court to dissolve a circuit court judge’s 2005 injunction that prevents enforcement of a 1998 charter amendment.
