The Englewood Fishing Club will host Capt. Ralph Allen at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Bay Harbor Ford (1908 S. McCall Road, Englewood). Ralph will discuss boating in Charlotte Harbor and successful fishing in February and March. Ralph, who has written for WaterLine since it was first published in 1997, owns and operates King Fisher Fleet charters. He has spent a lifetime learning the waters of the area and is widely recognized as one of the most knowledgeable individuals in his profession. Admission is free and open to the public.

The club’s monthly meetings feature speakers who know their stuff. On March 8, Capt. Cayle Wills of Bad Fish Charters will give a presentation. At the Apr. 12 meeting, Ken Taylor of Beach Snooker Charters will talk about spring fishing from area beaches and piers.
