Sailors from across the country will descend on Charlotte Harbor today as the 3rd annual Charlotte Harbor Regatta kicks off with a skippers meeting at Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club. Racing starts Friday morning.

More than 60 boats will compete in eight classes, including five multihull fleets launching from Port Charlotte Beach Park. The multihull race circle features the Hobie 16, Hobie Wave, F16, F18 and Weta trimaran classes. The multihulls will be racing Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Spring Fever scoring in place for competitors only able to race Saturday and Sunday.
