All these beautiful homes. And now is the chance to view a special selection of them.
TEAM Arcadia on Saturday hosts the annual Holiday Tour of Homes, giving you a glimpse of some of Arcadia’s most notable and interesting homes and buildings decked out for the holidays.
The tour—canceled last year due to impacts from Hurricane Irma—is back on for 2018 and promises a delightful journey back to the Victorian era.
The tour has for many years been an annual feature in Arcadia’s array of Christmas celebrations. It includes six private homes and buildings which have been decorated for the holidays. Visitors enjoy peeking into the tour sites and learning something about their history. Docents at each site and in the buses give visitors interesting tidbits about Arcadia’s past.
The tour on Saturday begins with rides starting at 4 p.m. at the downtown Tree of Knowledge Park (corner of West Oak and North DeSoto Ave./U.S. Highway 17). Visitors need not be there at the start but can arrive as late as 6 p.m. and still have a chance to see all of this year’s tour sites. Buses take visitors from one location to the next, so you can spend as much time at each location as you like.
Tickets remain at $12 per person and can be purchased at Antiques on Oak (33 W. Oak St.), or you can pick up your tickets at the park Saturday at the start of the tour.
TEAM Arcadia is a nonprofit with representatives from several DeSoto County groups supporting improvements in Arcadia.
