We are going to have “chamber of commerce” weather for our two big outside events this week, so grab a chair and plan to attend. At 5:15 p.m., we’ll be lighting the Christmas tree facing U.S. 41, next to the Murdock Administration Building. Our thanks to sponsors: Centennial Bank (grilling hot dogs) and Shelley Johnson/Allison James Estates & Homes (cookies/cider), the Charlotte Stone Crabs/Tampa Bay Rays and music by Sum1s Got 2. Please bring your own lawn chair and enjoy this informal community event with us.

On Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., we’ll have the November-December Business Card Exchange, sponsored by the Charlotte Harbor Rotary Club at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County. Remember to bring a small gift for additional face time and plenty of business cards to hand out.

We’re all set for our 40th Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday. Bring your chair and set it up along Taylor, then head downtown to shop and eat before the parade steps off at noon from Charlotte High School.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12 will be Networking at Noon at the Four Points by Sheraton Harborside. Please make a reservation in the Chamber store or call 941-627-2222.

We hope you’ll stop by the Freeman House, or office in Punta Gorda, before you head to work on Dec. 14 for Coffee Connections from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. We’ll have coffee and breakfast munchies as you catch up with colleagues.

The Charlotte Sun will sponsor the Dec. 19 Third Wednesday Coffee from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. at the Event Center. This is always a nice, festive morning when we give out awards for the Christmas Parade.

The kickoff party for our “Hottest Business Day in Paradise” Business Expo 2019 will be held on Jan. 10, 2019, at Kingsway Country Club. During the workshop before the 5:30 p.m. event, you’ll learn ways to enhance your booth space for the Feb. 7, 2019, Expo. Sponsors will be recognized and there will be great networking with fellow exhibitors. Register soon, so you don’t miss the party. Call Bob White at 941-627-2222 for details.
