I will get to Feb. 6 momentarily, but first, there are big things coming our chamber way.

Wednesday’s Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce “Networking at Noon” (11 a.m.) event. It will be harbor-tastic as we enjoy a fun and relaxing cruise with King Fisher Fleet. Please note that 11 a.m. is noon this month. The cost remains $15 and reservations can be made by calling the chamber at 941-627-2222 or by visiting the Chamber Store at charlottecountychamber.org.

On Thursday, we will be cutting the ribbon at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate Labor Solutions at 2726 Tamiami Trail, Suite A, in Port Charlotte. All chamber members are invited to attend. Remember, when you attend chamber events ... including “ribbon cuttings” ... you are introducing yourself to other business owners, managers, and staff in a cozy, informal setting. You are also showing support for your neighboring businesses. When put all together, attending chamber events will increase your bottom line. As always, feel free to stop in to say hello to our chamber members at any time!

OK, back to Feb. 6. The Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce is renowned for magically orchestrating “chamber of commerce weather” days. These glorious climate and atmospheric occurrences are beneficial for businesses in many ways. This includes successful events, tourist visits, more overall out-and-abouting, and the hard-to-resist temptation for businesses to relocate to our area. Seriously. If you have a location choice for your business or employment, why not be in paradise?

The “9th Annual Hottest Business Day in Paradise” Business EXPO will be Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center in Punta Gorda. This chamber member business EXPO is open to the public and like no other. There are reasons why past business sponsors and exhibitors register immediately after the event for the next year. They want to reserve their space! (Shhhhhh, they have bottom-line proof that the training and business-to-business networking alone are more than worth it!)

Anyone can attend, but the ways to participate are as an event sponsor and/or expo exhibitor. Sponsors will see the highest return on their investment with pre-event marketing including local media (hello!), websites, email, social media, community posters, and at all chamber networking events. The following businesses are already onboard as sponsors: PLATINUM: Chapman Insurance Group; SILVER: Solaris HealthCare Charlotte Harbor; BRONZE: Atlanta Braves, D & G Sealcoating & Striping, Inc., Fuccillo Kia, Kingsway Country Club, Premier Photographic Events, and The Mosaic Company; LANYARDS: Chapman Insurance Group; GOODIE BAGS: WhitCo Insurance, Alexia Martin; MEDIA: Sun Coast Media Group, iHeart Media WCCF News Radio 1580, and MonarchDIRECT.

And there is even more good news … a few sponsorship opportunities are still available. The number of sponsors is limited, industry exclusive, and they do indeed sell out. And why is that? The perks! Depending on the sponsorship level the benefits include prominent booth space, event ads, tickets for the after-hours party, networking speed meeting entries, event participant contact data, banners, goodie bag entry, and logos or company names in all event advertising and marketing materials. This encompasses the event website, posters, banners, handouts, and all chamber and event publications.

We like to remind all chamber members that there are at least six good reasons to participate in “9th Annual Hottest Business Day in Paradise” Business EXPO: (1) Network with hundreds of other serious-minded business people at one place; (2) Visit competing companies and compare prices and services; (3) Visit various companies to hear and compare points-of-view; (4) Meet hundreds of prospects and customers face-to-face to build rapport and confidence; (5) Collect literature to review for future planning and projects; (6) Familiarize yourself with products and services available in our community.

What are you waiting for? Call 941-627-2222 today. No matter the actual weather outside on Feb. 6, it WILL be the Hottest Business Day in Paradise!

Teri Ashley is the executive director of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce, with offices in both Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte. She can be reached at 941-639-2222 or at tashley@charlottecountychamber.org.
