Larry Stephenson Band concert The Larry Stephenson Band will perform two free concerts at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Fellowship Church of Englewood, 140 Rotonda Blvd. W., Rotonda, and all are welcome. Food driveThe North Port Community United Church of Christ, 3450 South Biscayne Drive, in partnership with The Salvation Army’s location in North Port will hold a food drive from 10 a.m.-noon on Monday. Lenten fish dinnersSt. Charles Borromeo Knights of Columbus will offer Lenten fish dinners from 5-7 p.m. every Friday during Lent: Feb. 26, March 5, March 12, March 19 and March 26. The dinners will be available for $10 each via drive-thru takeout at the Parish Center, 21505 Augusta Ave. Port Charlotte. Tickets are sold at the door or in the school/parish offices. Purim during a pandemicJewish Congregation of Venice leaders created a new approach to Purim this year. In the past, members have dressed in costume. At 5 p.m. Feb. 26, members will decorate their cars and themselves, and participate in a vehicle costume “CARnival” parade. Wacky prizes will be awarded, there will be a drive-thru Purim carnival game and a telling of the Purim tale, complete with a “honk when you hear Hamen” (the Purim villain). Following the Purim CARnival, a drive-in Shabbat service will be held in the parking lot with congregants tuning in to an FM station to participate. The JCV is located at 600 N. Auburn Road, Venice.
