First United Methodist Church’s Lenten ServicesFirst United Methodist Church invites all to join them for their annual Community Lenten Worship Series featuring ministers from several churches in the Charlotte County area. North Port Community Lenten ServicesThe North Port Community United Church of Christ, 3450 S. Biscayne Drive, invites all to its Lenten Journey: “Walking With Jesus” led by Pastor Attila Szemesi. Soup Suppers will be at 5 p.m. with Lenten Study at 6 p.m. on the following Wednesdays: March 18 and April 18.

Spring CantataThe North Port Community United Church of Christ, 3450 S. Biscayne Drive, presents its Spring Cantata “Our Father” at its 10 a.m. March 22. worship service. Directed by area musician Kimberly Campos, the “Our Father” is a creative cantata by Peter Chopin which takes both the choir and the congregation on a musical and narrative journey through the Lord’s Prayer. The Rev. Attila Szemesi officiates. Child care is provided. All are are invited to the Fellowship Hour following the service.

Chris Golden concertPastor Garry Clark of Fellowship Church of Englewood will be hosting singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Golden in concert at both the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Worship Services on March 29 at 140 Rotonda Blvd., W., Rotonda. Golden was with the Oak Ridge Boys for over 17 years and now has a solo career as a Christian Country Gospel artist. In 2016, Chris Golden received the Crossover Artist of the Year Award at the 60th Annual International Country Gospel Music Association. The concerts are free. Easter FestivalGulf Cove United Methodist Church invites all children and their families to its free Easter Festival from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 4, at the church, 1100 S. Sunrise serviceThe Knights of Columbus, Council 8074, is sponsoring for the 43rd year a Sunrise Catholic Mass at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 12, at Ponce de Leon Park. GriefShare sessionsGrieving the loss of someone close to you? Find comfort, support, and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend by attending a GriefShare session. The program is nondenominational and features biblical concepts for healing from your grief. Benefit ConcertHoly Trinity Lutheran Church, 2565 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, will have a piano and organ benefit concert at 3:08 p.m. Sunday. Any funds raised will be used for the Caring for God’s House fund. Cecil Buchinger and Al Rozier will play sacred and Broadway songs.

Friend to FriendFriend to Friend meets from 1-3 p.m. each Tuesday at Gulf Cove United Methodist Church, 1100 S. McCall Road, Port Charlotte (Gulf Cove area). This social gathering provides a place where adults of all ages can meet for fellowship, fun, and laughter. All you need to bring is a non-alcoholic beverage for yourself, a wide open heart, and a welcome spirit. On the third Tuesday of every month, the group meets at noon and and goes out for lunch.
