Knights, Sacred Heart unite for fundraiser

The Knights of Columbus, Ponce de Leon Council 8074, conducted a “Baby Bottle” campaign at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, raising $18,000 toward the purchase of an ultrasound machine for the Pregnancy Careline Center in Port Charlotte. Parishioners were given baby bottles after Masses and asked to fill them with spare change, dollars and checks. The $18,000 was matched by the national Knights of Columbus to fund the Phillips3D/4D Color, ClearVue 850 Ultrasound machine.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Gulf Cove United Methodist Church, 1100 S. McCall Road, Port Charlotte will serve a free Thanksgiving dinner for the community, with turkey and all the traditional fixings, from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday. Homebound individuals who live within 10 miles of the church may call before noon Nov. 25, to request delivery. Smoked turkey dinnersKnights of Columbus Council 5399’s Smoked Turkey Dinner sale will include smoked turkey, homemade cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, gravy and cranberry sauce for six. Christmas rummage saleA huge Christmas-items rummage sale will be held in the Englewood United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 700 E. Dearborn St., from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 29-30.
