Over the course of the next week, we can expect two cold fronts to pass through the Southwest Florida region.
The first front will begin to push through the area Friday, according to Rodney Wynn, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay.
Temperatures Friday night are expected to dip into the mid-60s, with a 30% chance of rain. Saturday night is expected to cool off a bit more, with temperatures expected to drop to 62 degrees.
Sunday night into Monday, temperatures could begin to rise again, to 64 degrees.
Wynn said another cold front will come through Southwest Florida beginning Wednesday of next week.
The second front will bring cooler temperatures, Wynn said, with the low temperatures expected to dip to the high 50s.
Wednesday night, we may see temperatures in the mid to upper 50s, and again we will see a 30% chance of rain as the front moves through the region.
Wynn said the passage of the cold fronts are typical for this time of year. During the fall and winter season, we will see cold fronts pass through every three to five days, he said.
