The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help identifying suspects in a recent car part theft.
CCSO has released video surveillance from a catalytic converter theft that occurred within Charlotte County at approximately 8 p.m. on Sept. 3.
The video shows what appears to be two people enter a vacant lot -- a man in a blue shirt and dark-colored pants and a woman in an orange dress. At one point in the video, the woman appears to look around the lot by herself.
“Due to the active investigation and the risk of the suspects (or others) potentially gaining intel from this video, we will not be releasing the incident location at this time,” wrote CCSO Public Information Officer Claudette Smith.
CCSO has previously released tips to deter the theft of catalytic converters from large vehicles. Most of the targets have been at business locations.
