The light on a lone, black motorcycle blinked on and off as it leaned on the shoulder of El Jobean Road Saturday afternoon.

The owner was nowhere to be seen.

But a motorcyclist was injured in front of the Charlotte County Fire/EMS station, at 4322 El Jobean Rd. Saturday afternoon, and transferred to an area hospital.

A section of El Jobean going southbound was closed off due to the accident, causing a long stretch of traffic on both the north and southbound sides of the highway.

The Sun contacted the Florida Highway Patrol, which is in charge of the investigation, Saturday afternoon for an update, but no information about what happened was provided.

Attempts to obtain information on the incident from Charlotte County Fire/EMS were also not immediately successful.
