Bruce Stewart Pomeroy, 86, of Englewood, Florida, passed on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. He was born on December 24, 1934, which was appropriate because his generosity was a great gift for so many.

He married Marguerite Charland on May 17, 1958, and they lived together in Englewood, Florida until her death on April 13, 2015. Together they raised four children: daughter Debra Gordon (who passed on in 2018), son Steven Pomeroy, son Scott Pomeroy, and granddaughter Jessica Richardson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Bruce worked as a Building Inspector in Rochester, NY. Because of his position, he met some very interesting characters indeed!

After retiring to Englewood, Florida he co-founded the "Road Warriors". This group was instrumental in developing a more effective and Scrub-Jay friendly hurricane evacuation route for the citizens there; when you drive on Winchester Blvd. in Englewood, be sure to give thanks to Bruce!

Bruce served his country for 4 years in the Air Force, and will be interred alongside Marguerite at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
