A recent letter writer prefaces his incredulous treatise with the sentence: "Joe Biden is doing a real good job." Really?
He refers to the exit from the war in Afghanistan as "messy." Really?
Truth is, the botched exit from the country was, in fact, a chaos-riddled plethora of mistakes which resulted in a crushing blow to our counter-terror capability, our international prestige and our geopolitical position. Additionally, Biden's shameless incompetence and dishonesty have prompted comments from our allies such as those from Boris Johnson who referred to Biden as "sleepy Joe and remarked further that "England would be better off with Trump."
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair said in public that Biden's withdrawal was "imbecilic."
The letter writer's assertion that our worldly friends see us in a positive light is hereby referred to an article in The Daily Sun section of Sunday, Sept. 5. Columnist Mark Thiessen's piece details how other nations really regard our nation and our president. The contest of Thiessen's note serves to render this as blatantly false.
I would ask this writer to observe the world as it is and not view it as he wishes it to be.
