Organizers for the Nokomis Art & Craft Market are launching their 2018-19 season on Nov. 17.

“This market promises to be the best ever with over 30 new and returning vendors displaying their wares for sale on the grounds of the Cottage Gallery of Art. The centrally located display area extends between Cafe Evergreen, Rum Runner’s Antiques Mall, Nokomis Art Space, and the Cottage Gallery. We’ll also be offering free morning coffee and water at the Cottage for as long as it lasts,” said Judi Light, who, along with fellow Cottage Gallery co-op board members Marley Beers and Heide Marie Wittmann, organizes monthly markets from November through April every year.

As in the past, shoppers searching for high-quality paintings, unique handmade jewelry, creative photography, whimsical prints, pottery, decorative toss pillows, wood carvings and hand-crafted accent furniture won’t be disappointed.

Weaves by Mrs. E., wearable art made from natural fibers by Michelle-Jeanne Edwards, will be back with hand-spun woolen vegetable-dyed shawls. She’s always willing to receive individual or wholesale orders and is happy to design and provide wedding party shawls for beach weddings.

Local chiropractor Erene Romanski, better known as Dr. E., will be displaying uniquely- designed jewelry once again, and artist/marine biologist, Elizabeth Bonert, will be offering ink and watercolor sea-life prints.

Jeff Holloway returns this season with a number of very popular gyotaku fish prints while Lisa Vaugn’s whimsical palm frond pieces and Charlotte Robert’s decorated glass window panes should draw a lot of attention as first-time market participants. Turned wood enthusiasts may want to check out Frank Johanneson’s creations.

At the Cottage Gallery shoppers will discover “Light Touch Art” by Judi Light, nature-printing by Heide Marie Wittmann, beaded jewelry by Marley Beers, and an array of high quality artwork created by participating artists.

Class schedules are available for people interested in signing up for art classes.

Antique lovers will want to browse through Dan Simic’s Rum Runner’s Antiques Mall located next to The Cottage, and throughout the day, Joey Orchulli III (Joey O and friends) will provide live musical entertainment.

Hungry shoppers who may want to take a break before, during, or after their shopping experience will find tasty treats available at Peter Brewer’s food truck parked inside the shopping area, but additional food choices include Captain Eddies Seafood Restaurant or Café Evergreen, both located steps away from the market.

The fourth annual Nokomis Art & Craft Market will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the grounds of The Cottage Gallery of Art, 106 Pocono Trail, Nokomis. Parking is conveniently located behind Rum Runner’s Antiques Mall or at the Cottage. Future Nokomis Art & Craft Markets are scheduled for Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 16, and April 20.
