Saxophone Recording Artist Eirinn Abu and International guitarist Manny Lopez performs a Christmas concert at North Port Performing Arts Center.

On Dec. 12, masterful soprano saxophonist and recording artist Eirinn Abu will be hosting a Christmas show at 7 p.m. at the North Port Performing Arts Center located at North Port High School, 6400 W. Price Blvd.

Eirinn Abu will be accompanied by International recording guitarist Manny Lopez performing selections from their “Saxy Christmas” album along with selections from “Ten Love Stories” and their album released this year titled “HYMNS.”

This instrumental phenomenon began playing at age 10 in Maryland. Everything then took a backseat to Abu’s love of the saxophone and his growth as a truly gifted musician.

During college his attention turned to the health care industry, and he became a successful sales and marketing executive. But, while taking a walk one day, he bought a saxophone that caught his eye from the window of a pawn shop and his career path changed back to total commitment to a grueling schedule of rehearsing and recording music.

Abu’s efforts were rewarded with his first independently released smooth jazz CD, featuring accompaniment of the Miami Sound Machine and the writing of Jon Secada.

The artist is now known for giving his instrument a new voice and sound, full of soul and emotions, his peers call him the instrumental version of Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli. His talent has warranted Dolly Parton’s singing her “I Will Always Love You” on his CD’s, “A New Creation” and “Forever In Love.”

For the past 30 years, guitarist Manny Lopez has recorded on hundreds of albums with many pop artists such as Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Santana and Michael Bolton just to name a few.

Abu and his wife Brandy Doyle moved from Nashville, Tennessee, to Rockledge, Florida, over six years ago with their ministry, Music for Life Ministries. Recently they relocated to Venice, from which they continue to share their music ministry with churches around the country as they have for more than seven years.

Please RSVP to reserve your seat to attend this beautiful Christmas event at Box Office 941-426-8479. A $25 ticket donation will be required upon arrival at the event.
