UPDATE: 1:45 P.M. The fire is out. Firefighters are still on the scene.

The back part of the building burned, the front dining room was not on fire.

UPDATE: 1:06 P.M. Firefighters have knocked down the fire. At about 12:45, fire command ordered all firefighters out of the building so the aerial spray could be used.

Sheriff's deputies continue to arrive at the scene to help with crowd control. All entrances to Palm Plaza are now blocked off.

Officials are asking people to please avoid the area so first responders can do their jobs. 

We have not heard any report of injuries.

ENGLEWOOD - Firefighters are fighting a fire at the Englewood Taco Bell.

Flames were shooting through the roof of the building.

The fire was reported just after noon Thursday. The building was evacuated of all customers and employees.

Firefighters from the Englewood Area Fire Control District responded quickly to the restaurant, at Palm Plaza, 1901 S McCall Road, but soon flames were shooting up through the roof of the building. 

Deputies from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene for crowd control.
