With all profits going directly toward cancer research through the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of North Port hosted its first 5K Color Run on March 14.

The race took place on North Port High School's campus. Colored powder was tossed at the start, at each mile marker and close to the finish line. Afterwards, participants of all ages and running levels were treated to refreshments and snacks.

There were awards for top male and female overall, as well as Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters and Veterans. Awards also were given for the top 3 male/female in their age group.
