State commander visits Rotonda Legion

Dianne Boland, the state commander who presides over about 300 American Legion posts in Florida, paid a visit to Rotonda West American Legion Post 113 in District 8 on Saturday. She was escorted from Venice by the Legion Riders. Boland, of Orlando, is a proponent of promoting little-known programs and veterans opportunities by the American Legion, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. She is also a supporter of the Final Salute, which assists female veterans and their children who are homeless, or facing homelessness, or financially challenged — regardless of their location. For more information about the American Legion and Post 113, visit, email, call 941-697-3616 or stop by the post at 3436 Indiana Road, Rotonda.
