Keynote speaker was Arts Ensemble Education Foundation Director Jane Waters Thomas. In addition to managing the foundation for the past 14 years, Ms. Thomas was recently appointed to the City of Winter Haven Cultural Arts Committee and hired as City of Haines City Community Redevelopment Agency Project Manager.

“I see the community as my medium,” Thomas said while bringing the other ladies up to speed on the latest arts news.

Ms. Thomas helps connect children struggling with grades with art as a means of trying to turn things around. The foundation has free after school arts programs daily at the Eloise Resource Center. In her Haines City work, she is trying to incorporate art into redeveloping neighborhoods. At various locations across the county, the foundation also has art classes for veterans. The foundation also manages the Winter Haven Arts Center and Outer Space Gallery and sponsors some area artists working in the community.
