As many know, I have lived in Winter Haven my entire life. This beautiful City and all it has to offer is very important to me and my family, and it is with tremendous pride that I serve on the City Commission as your Mayor. Our special Winter Haven experiences create a unique sense of community pride that bonds us together. Our community partnerships are essential to success, as is our ability to remain authentic and unique. We recognize progress needs to continue, and it is local governments’ responsibility to ensure our originality and distinguishing hallmarks are not dismissed or destroyed.
This is why I invite everyone to celebrate Florida City Government Week October 22 – 28; when we recognize the many reasons why we have chosen Winter Haven as our preferred place to live, work, learn, play and raise a family.
Florida City Government Week is the opportunity to acknowledge the regular impacts of our local government and the 500 full and part time employees working every day to enrich the Winter Haven lifestyle through exceptional service. It is in City Hall where decisions are made affecting our community, our businesses and our neighborhoods. Whether you are excited about your community or have ideas to make us better, it’s at the local government level where your voice is heard the loudest.
Please join me as we celebrate Winter Haven government through a variety of opportunities including meetings, contests, workshops, events and even a “Meet the Mayor” get-together at the Winter Haven Library at 9 a.m., October 26! Please go to the City of Winter Haven website at www.mywinterhaven.com for more information on Florida City Government Week and the many City services available to you as a resident.
Thank you for being an engaged part of the Winter Haven momentum. There are many projects and plans for our future to continue making Winter Haven the BEST city. We all look forward to serving you and your family for many years to come.
Mayor Brad Dantzler
