POLK COUNTY – The Polk County Commission discussed a proposed mobile home park along Thornhill Road March 5.
The mobile home park could have as many as 247 lots on less than 59 acres. Less lots than that number is likely, though, because a nearby resident provided evidence of a set of bald eagles, a hawk and a blue heron are nesting on the property.
Another resident raised traffic concerns, as Thornhill Road is currently being used by many truck drivers exiting Polk Parkway to get to the CSX facility on State Road 60.
It is early in the permitting process, but so far the Polk County Planning Commission and the county commission have both voted to move the development along.
