LOOKING AHEAD – We've said it before, but it's worth mentioning again the quality of football they play in the Mid South Conference, which local schools Webber International, Warner University and Southeastern University reside. This will be the second year for each school in what is the largest collegiate football conference in the country. The prognosticators have picked their 2018 favorites, the prognosticators being coaches in each of the conference's three divisions. Not surprisingly, Southeastern is the favorite once again this year in the Sun Division, which they won last fall. They got six of the seven first-place votes. Webber is picked third, behind Faulkner which got the other first-place vote. Warner is picked to finish fourth. Let the games begin!

THE LETTERMEN – No, not the musical group. It's actually a group announced to help support the Webber International football team. According to the school, the Lettermen Club's goal is “to perpetuate the Webber football tradition and promote unity between former players, coaches and the university. Involvement is a vital, mutual benefit that enables contributors to remain connected to the university and football program in a whole new way.” There are different levels of giving, starting at $25.
