NORTH PORT — Police arrested a Charlotte County Sheriff's deputy Wednesday, charging him with stalking a woman for more than a year.
Deputy David Motz is charged with aggravated stalking, a felony, and is on paid administrative leave from the CCSO according to a blog post from that agency.
The deputy threatened to use his taser on the woman, and told her at one point that if she reported him and he lost his job, she would "end up like Denise Amber Lee," a North Port woman and the daughter of a Charlotte County deputy who was kidnapped, raped and murdered in 2008.
The alleged victim filed a complaint with the North Port Police Department on Sunday, telling officers the "harassment has been almost a daily occurrence," according to the report. The location of the crime is listed as Snowflake Lane in North Port.
Motz was taken into custody by CCSO officers and booked in the Charlotte County Jail.
