SARASOTA — Out of what Sarasota County School District is calling "an abundance of caution," the district has canceled tonight's Digital Town Hall and after-school activities.

In a news release from the district, the Town Hall is canceled due to the possible inclement weather from Hurricane Michael.

The district plans to reschedule the digital town hall.

This evening's Town Hall dealt with the importance of civility, the value of preventative care, ways to reach emotional well-being and house and the school district can partner to provide wrap around services.

Also canceled this afternoon is after-school activities for the district, aside from after-school care for students.

If parents have questions, they can call the individual school sites for more information.

No date has been set for the digital town hall yet.
