PUNTA GORDA — Disturbing details have emerged from the recently released report of a Punta Gorda man accused of extorting sexual photos from children.
Nathan Nicholas Potter, 37, allegedly began talking to a 10-year-old Canadian victim on the online application “Sketch” using the pseudonym “Holly.”
Potter identified himself as a 13-year-old girl and requested sexually explicit photos of the victim and her 8-year-old sister, but only received photos of the older girl, which were sent over an application called Discord. To get more photos from the girl, he allegedly threatened to share the first ones she sent.
Georgia authorities also connected Potter with a similar case, where he again identified himself as “Holly” but later revealed he was actually an adult male and sent a photo of himself.
Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Potter attempting to move out of the Flamingo Motel in Punta Gorda and arrested him on the Georgia warrant. Locally, he was charged with possession of child pornography and compiling computer pornography involving a minor in relation to the case with the Canadian victim.
