NORTH PORT — North Port Police arrested three occupants in a stolen van allegedly containing a quantity of methamphetamine, or meth, Thursday afternoon.
The unnamed trio had traveled south on Tamiami Trail near Sumter Boulevard when North Port officers pulled over the minivan. The van had an Ohio license plate when police made the traffic stop at about 11 a.m. It was registered to an owner in Flint, Michigan.
One occupant, police said, failed to comply with a directive and was subdued with a Taser device. The three face felony drug charges, according to a North Port police spokesperson.
Details of the charges weren’t available Thursday, as the investigation was continuing and the three had not been booked on any charges.
