A woman was bitten by a snake, believed to be a cottonmouth, while walking in Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park Friday.

NORTH PORT — A woman was treated for a snakebite Friday evening.

North Port Fire Rescue crews received a call at 6:30 p.m. on Friday for a snakebite — possibly from a cottonmouth — in Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, according to city spokesperson Madison Heid.
