Elizabeth (Betty) Cannon Stalls, 88, of Lake Placid, Florida went home to be with her Lord early Sunday morning, Nov. 11, 2018 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center. Betty was a native of Lake Placid and was born on July 25, 1930 to parents Caretta (Smith) and William Russell Cannon. After graduating from high school, Betty married her husband of 68 years, Sonny Stalls, on May 6, 1950 in Lake Placid. Most of their married life was spent in Clewiston where they raised their two daughters. In 1983 they relocated to Lake Placid where Betty was an active member in the community. She was a member of the Lake Placid Historical Society, Manna Ministries, Daughters of the Confederacy, and the United Methodist Women’s Group. She was very active with her church, Memorial United Methodist Church of Lake Placid.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Sonny; daughters, Donna Hogan (Bernie) of Lake Placid and Kathy Wilcox (Preston) of Flagler Beach; two grandsons, Brett Hogan and Adam Wilcox (Brittany); two great-granddaughters, Harper and Hayden Wilcox; sister in-law, Clarice Cannon of Lake Placid, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.

A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at Memorial United Methodist Church, 500 Kent Ave., Lake Placid with Pastor Claude Burnett and Pastor Lonnie Wells officiating.
