Betty R. and Charles F. Cooley celebrate 76 years of marriage.

SEBRING — Charles F. Cooley and Betty R. Gardner were married on Aug. 24, 1942 in Knightstown, Indiana by the Reverend Dale Stackhouse, in the church.

Their life took them to many places to call home, starting in Altadena, California; then their hometown of Spiceland, Indiana; New Castle, Indiana; Muncie, Indiana; Marion, Indiana then the big move to Palm Harbor, Florida and then their final home in Sebring, Florida.

“The many, many good friends along the way, made for a really good life, with a lot of fun along the way. We ended up in the Sebring Golf Club for about 28 years of good golf and card playing,” said the couple.

Chuck has been a member of the Masons since 1953, a lifetime member of the Elks, Moose for 31 years and VFW for 43 years. Betty is a member of American Legion #368, Elks Ladies #195 and others.

They were blessed with two sons, Charles Jr. with wife Lorene, and Robert E. with wife Linda; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
