AVON PARK — Friday, Nov. 9, from 1-3 p.m., following Battle of the Bands Inc. Dedication of the War Dog Monument donated to Avon Park taking place at Avon Park Community Center’s Main Street lawn, at noon, HCA will have a reception honoring service dogs at the Peter Powell Roberts Museum of Art, 310 West Main Street, Avon Park, second floor.

A video of the War Dogs dedication to protecting our servicemen will be shown. HCA will also honor the Therapy Dogs ability to heal and change lives through love. Testimony will be given through the story of Therapy Dog ID 32320, Sheba.

The inspirational story will be told of Sheba's discovery of missing Florida Master Artist, Peter Powell Roberts, how she brought him out of severe depression, gave him the will to live, overcome pain, and paint again. A video of the story will also be shown. Refreshments served. Open to the public and free of charge.
