Charles P. Asbury

Charles P. Asbury, 88, passed away Nov. 27, 2018. A native of Sebring, Florida he graduated from Sebring High School in June 1948, after having enlisted May 1948 with Army Ready Reserves Active Status, He served, re-enlisting at three-year intervals. After 11 years, he was Honorable Discharged on May 3, 1954. He attended University of Florida, except for interruption during the Korean War era when he was called into active duty, graduating in 1954 from The College of Architecture Building Contractor.

He was with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a civil engineer on construction stateside and in Saudi Arabia for seven years. He held a Florida statewide general contractor’s license from 1967 until retirement in 1985. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sebring.

He is survived by his two sons, James P. Asbury and Richard C. Asbury and their families; and his sister, Jean M. Asbury.

A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor David Juliano at Pinecrest Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches, P.O. Box 2000, Boys Ranch, FL 32064.
