Frederick William "Bill" Hmura, 77, of Sebring, Florida passed away Nov. 2, 2018.

Frederick was born July 14, 1941 to Joseph (Hmura) Bassett and Catherine Fisher in Mechanicville, New York. Frederick married Patricia Smith, and she survives. Frederick faithfully and honorably served his country by joining the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Frederick was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Sebring. He was a faithful member serving as a Eucharistic minister and loved taking the Holy Eucharist to the homebound. Frederick and his wife left New York and traveled around the country in their RV for eight years, spending an entire summer one year in Alaska. They settled down in Sebring in 2003.

Frederick is survived by not only his wife, but one brother, Joseph Hmura of Mechanicville, New York; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs. He was a passionate dog lover and owned several dogs throughout his life.

Frederick is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John.

There will be a memorial service at a later date at St. Catherine’s Parish in Sebring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Sebring or the Highlands County Humane Society.
