John G. Marshall, 74, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 in Suffolk, Virginia after a series of medical problems. John's name should be added to the list of thousands of Vietnam veterans who suffered a lifetime of unresolved war inflicted issues.
John was born in Sebring, Florida on March 11, 1944. His parents were John A. Marshall and Agnes Bates Marshall. He attended schools in Lake Placid, graduating in 1962. He also graduated from Old Dominion University with a degree in business. He owned John Marshall Accounting in Lake Placid for a number of years.
John served as a lieutenant in Vietnam. He received both a Purple Heart and Silver Star for his service to our country.
John is survived by two children: son, Patrick Marshall of Winter Haven and daughter, Susan Marshall Tabish (Rob) of Florence, Montana; and granddaughter, Victoria Marshall of Winter Haven. He was also survived by a sister, Marilee Justice of Hampton, Virginia. John considered Doug Tuck, as well as Bud and Betty Roulette to be close friends. John was preceded in death by brother, Tommy Marshall, and sister, Alice Sykes.
Burial is scheduled to be in the Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
