Robert Andrew Garbiras passed away peacefully under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice on Oct. 29, 2018. His celebration of life will be held at Fairway Pines on Sun 'n Lake Blvd. in Sebring at 3 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2018, which would have been is 97th birthday!

Bob joined the Navy in 1942 to serve in WWII. He was deployed to the Philippians where he was a radio operator while flying on a seaplane doing rescue missions. Robert was grateful that the Lord watched over him and got him back home safely after the war. Bob was active in the Elks Club, American Legion and the VFW.

He served as Chaplain from 1970-1972 and was also Post Quartermaster from 1972-1973. He kept busy with volunteering at Florida Hospital, bowling, golfing playing solitaire and clipping coupons for the military until he underwent hospice care. Prior to that, he owned Atey Auto Body in South Hackensack, New Jersey.

He leaves behind his three children, Linda Sosely, Robert Garbiras and Ann Marie Pratico; two nieces; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He is now reunited with Ellie, whom went to be with Jesus more than 12 years ago. He is resting in our Father's wonderful kingdom - "Praise the Lord'' Amen.
