Russell Ernest Smith Sr. was born in 1932. Surrounded by his family, he passed away on Nov. 18, 2018. Russ left this earth and went home to his heavenly home to spend eternity with his Savior.

He is survived by his family: Charlotte, his much loved wife of 64 years; his brother-in-law, Edward Ward; his children, Deborah (Timothy) Bantle, Russell Jr. (Andrea), Randy (Dottie), Rod (Robbie), Deidre (Shane) Wiggins, Rodger (Dawn), Rory (Jennifer), Ryan, Jessica, and Devon; and his grandchildren, Amy (Nathan), Joel (Amber), Zachary (Stephanie), Ethan, Gabriel (Grace), Rachel, Aaron (Larissa), Sarah (Paul), Jeffrey, Douglas (Samantha), Casey (Brett), Maggie, Aslan, Rilian, Corin,, Josiah, Joshua, Mackenzie, Addison, Julian, Justice, Jaxen, and Jeremiah, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Russell retired from Mobil Oil Corporation after 42 years. He spent many years of his retirement living in and enjoying the Outer Banks, North Carolina and Sebring, Florida. Much of Russ’ time and energies were devoted to serving his Lord at Life Choices Center in Binghamton, New York, Clarks Summit University in Pennsylvania, Heartland Christian School in Sebring, Florida and Sudan Interior Mission in Sebring, Florida.

He spent his life and energy loving his Savior, loving his wife and loving his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at Joy Community Fellowship, 1701 Sycamore St., Haddon Heights, New Jersey. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Life Choices Center, 95 Oak St., Binghamton, NY 13905 in Russ’s memory.
