NORTH VENICE — The next newest community in the area is set to be Cielo, with a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 220 Corsano Drive in Nokomis.
Cielo, a Neal Communities project, is along Jacaranda Boulevard off Laurel Road and adjacent to Aria, another Neal neighborhood.
There will be tours of a model home and look at the Cielo amenities, including a playground, dog park, shade shelters and other amenities. The day will include face painting and a bounce house for kids along with food trucks and drinks.
Cielo is Italian for sky, according to a news release. The combination of the Italian architectural theme and the blue skies of Venice inspired the name.
Ultimately, the community will have 71 homesites with prices starting about $310,000.
“We are excited to open Cielo among the communities of single-family residential developments in Venice,” Neal Communities President Mike Storey said in the news release. “With a variety of floor plans at more affordable prices and with lower fees, Cielo is a great option for growing families.”
Cielo is two miles east of Interstate 75.
Students living in Cielo would attend Laurel-Nokomis School and Venice High. The community is a 15-minute drive to Pine View School, among the best schools in the state, which students must test into to attend.
