VENICE — Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is asking city of Venice voters choosing to vote by mail in the Nov. 2 election to return their ballots promptly to avoid postal delays.
Ballots may be returned by mail or in person but must be received in the elections office by 7 p.m. election night to be counted.
The cost to return a ballot by mail is one Forever stamp or 58 cents postage.
Ballots may also be returned to secure drop boxes inside elections offices in Venice (Robert L. Anderson Building, 4000 South Tamiami Trail); North Port (Biscayne Plaza, 13640 Tamiami Trail); and Sarasota (Terrace Building, 2001 Adams Lane).
Hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays only through Oct 22; 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Oct 24 to Nov. 1; and 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Nov. 2.
A vote-by-mail ballot can be requested online at SarasotaVotes.gov/VotebyMail or by calling 941-861-8618. The deadline is 5 p.m., Oct. 23.
