Salvation Army Band plays for locals in need

Karen Bowles, left, Gary Titcombe, Joe Geiss, Dan Bowles (Band Master), Ali Ricketts and Martha Deyo, members of The Salvation Army Corps Band, play at Walmart Sunday, Dec. 2. As the band plays on, many holiday shoppers drop cash into the red collection kettle – a Christmas tradition designed to help those in need. Volunteer bell ringers will be at various locations until Dec. 24 raising funds to help families in Venice, Nokomis, Englewood, North Port and the South Sarasota County area during the holidays.
