VENICE — Blue Lotus is offering options to those wanting to gather, still socially distanced, or use computers to continue to learn together.
Anyone who wants to learn how to play the djembe can join a beginner class from 4-5 p.m. Tuesdays at Blue Lotus, 714 Shamrock Blvd. The cost is $10.
The djembe is an West African goblet-shaped drum popular at drum circles.
“Join Linda Marie in a beginner class, no drumming experience necessary, to learn the basics and some fun groovy rhythms,” it said.

Zoom into Yoga
Blue Lotus also continues to offer Zoom into Yoga from 9-10 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. They are held by Mary Riley and Jen Brown. For more information or for an online link, email email@example.com. There is a suggested donation of $10.

There are also a variety of classes set up for yoga, including:
• 9:30-10 a.m. Saturdays — Gentle chair stretch yoga, followed by “a short guided mediation,” it said.
• 9:30-10:45 a.m. Wednesdays — Balance yoga, women only
“We work a good deal on our balance — this is modified yoga, but still challenging,” it said.
• 9:30-11 a.m. Fridays: Restorative yoga and guided mediation. “Gather your pillows and blankets and come rest and restore — mind body spirit,” the news release said.
The classes are offered by Jen Brown for $5 per class. She is known as “Zen Jen.”

“Zen Jen” is a certified yoga instructor, specializing in the 50-plus population and has extended training in balance, flexibility, Parkinson’s & Alzheimer’s with certifications in Senior and Chair Yoga,” it said.
She holds certification for meditation instructor and is certified in restorative yoga, YIN yoga; trauma informed yoga; and is a Reiki master energy practitioner.
“Jen holds Yoga for death, dying and caregivers certification... she offers sacred ceremonies of all types and is able to hold space for those in need,” it said.
