Meeting him for first time

Don MacLeod of Venice (sitting) meets his 10-month-old grandson, Koa, for the very first time. “My granddaughter Rachel drove here from Monroe, Michigan this past week for a brief vacation,” MacLeod, 81, wrote to the Gondolier. “I cannot help to think she did it so I could meet Koa, her son. My thinking is since I am undergoing cancer treatment for multiple myeloma at Florida Cancer, my life expectancy is probably not long-term.” Pictured are, from left, granddaughter Rachel Thornton (holding Kesia), Mark Thornton, Pat MacLeod and (sitting) Don MacLeod (holding Koa).
